Kfir Bibas
Kfir Bibas
1
Kfir is the youngest of (estimated) 250 people, including 40 children, being held hostage by Hamas in Gaza. He is a smiling, beautiful red-haired baby boy who has just started crawling and rocking on all fours before his kidnapping, at 9 months of age.
Kfir lives in Kibbutz Nir Oz with his mother Shiri, father Yarden and 4-year-old brother, Ariel.
On Saturday 7 October, their lives were changed forever when the entire family was kidnapped by Hamas and taken to Gaza as the Islamist terrorists of Hamas overran the area and went on a murderous rampage. Mother Shiri Bibas was abducted along with her two redheaded children, Ariel and Kfir. Father Yarden Bibas was taken hostage at the same time by another group of terrorists, separately from his wife and kids.
Ofri Bibas, the aunt of the two youngest hostages still held in Gaza, said that she wants to believe that the refusal to release her family during the first temporary cease-fire agreement in November 2023 is part of Hamas’s psychological warfare. “We don’t know where they are being held or by which organization. From what we know, they are kept underground somewhere in Gaza,” said Ofri, sister of Yarden Bibas.
Ofri called upon the Israeli government, Qatar and Egypt, “everybody who is involved in this negotiation and this deal,” to do everything in their power to include the Bibas family in the upcoming deal, and for them to be freed as soon as possible. “It’s time for them to be released,” she said.
Kfir, hold on, little treasure. We love you dearly and we believe with all our hearts that you and your family will come back home soon!
