Ori Danino
Ori Danino
25
Ori Danino was born and raised in Ramot, Jerusalem. Ori is an intelligent, ambitious, and funny young man. He captivates everyone around him with his generosity and charm. Ori always sees others before anything else. He was supposed to start studying for his bachelor's degree and move in with his fiancee, his beloved Li’el.
Ori is a fan of Beitar Jerusalem football club and even a bigger fan of black coffee (the darker, the better ;). He loves music, loves to laugh and appreciates a great party.
Ori was dancing with his friends at the Nova music festival near Re’im on October 7 when Hamas terrorists launched a murderous attack. He managed to leave the festival area, while packing his car with people trying to escape. Ori did not drive home; he just couldn’t leave his newly found friends, siblings Itay (18) and Maya Regev (21) and their mutual friend Omer Shem Tov (21) there, at the bloodbath. Ori came back for them - but then he was caught. Ori was kidnapped to Gaza together with Omer, Maya and Itay.
Siblings Maya and Itay Regev were released from Hamas captivity as part of a temporary cease-fire agreement in late November. They are eagerly awaiting the safe return of Omer Shem Tov and Ori Danino, and with them, the whole nation.
One of Ori's brothers, Yitzhak Danino, the closest sibling to him, with whom he shared his apartment and countless experiences, has been fervently advocating for Ori's return. Yitzhak emphasizes the urgency of bringing back Ori and all the other hostages, urging decision-makers to ensure an all-inclusive exchange deal. He is deeply concerned about reports of the hostages' conditions and is frustrated that the Israeli government allows Hamas to set the pace: "Just make a deal already and bring everyone back. Handling Gaza can be done later" says the devoted, loving brother Yitzhak.
