Orión Hernández Radoux

Orión Hernández Radoux, holding both Mexican and French citizenship, met 22-year-old Shani Nicole Louk in Europe. The couple had been together for nearly a year. Orión is a music producer known for his global festival work.

His father, Sergio Hernández, describes Orión fondly as a person full of generosity in every sense, loved by everyone, and adores his young daughter.

Orión, Shani, and their friend Keshet Casarotti-Kalfa (21), collaborated on a trance festival in Greece. Following this, they vacationed in Israel. While in Israel, Orión and his friends, after meeting a Mexican DJ in Tel Aviv, went to the Nova music festival near Kibbutz Re’im, where tragedy struck.

On Saturday October 7 Orión was dancing at the Nova music festival with Shani, Keshet and their friends. After the rocket warning alarm was sounded, and the attack began, Shani and Keshet were caught in an ambush of Hamas terrorists. Keshet managed to warn his friends, whispering on the phone: “run away! Don’t wait for us”; thus saving their lives, including Orión’s. Keshet was missing for four days until his body was located and he was declared dead.

Both Orión and Shani were brutally kidnapped by Hamas terrorists. Following Orión’s abduction, his parents received a message in Arabic from the captors, saying: "Orión was kidnapped to Gaza; he is alive and well. We intend to use him for political bargaining."

A distressing video of Shani circulated and quickly turned viral, becoming a stark symbol of the violence on October 7. Tragically, Shani was confirmed deceased on October 30 when forensic analysis identified parts of her skull, underscoring Hamas's role in her death before taking her to Gaza.

Orión's parents maintain communication with French and Mexican officials, staying informed on diplomatic endeavors aimed at freeing the hostages, with a focus on Orión .

Sergio, while hopeful for Orión's safety, urges him to stay strong for his family's sake: "I understand that sometimes hostages can hear news in Hamas captivity, so I want to send a message to Orión not to worry about his family, I'm taking care of them - and that he should take care of himself and stay alive."

The IDF announced on 24/05/24 that during an overnight special operation in Jabalia, Israeli security forces rescued the body of Oryon Hernández-Radoux, 30, a Mexican citizen and one of the three French nationals known to remain in Hamas’ captivity. Oryon attended the Nova music festival on October 7 and was abducted from the Mefalsim intersection to Gaza, where he was killed by Hamas terrorists.
Oryon’s family, friends, and community are devastated by this immense loss.
