Ravid Katz

Ravid lived with his wife and four-month-old baby (at the time of the October attack) in Kibbutz Nir Oz.
On Saturday October 7, Ravid made sure his wife and little baby were safe with neighbors and went to fight the terrorists with the Kibbutz security team. Ravid’s wife and baby survived the assault, hiding for long hours in the sealed room.
Ravid’s mother, Efrat Katz (70) was murdered. Efrat’s partner, Gadi Moshe Mozes, was kidnapped and has been held captive in Gaza since then. Ravid’s sister Doron Katz Asher and her two daughters were also kidnapped. After enduring 49 days in Gaza, Aviv, Raz and Doron were released from Hamas captivity as part of a temporary cease-fire deal on November 25th.
Ravid’s other sister, Lior Katz Natanzon, who also lives in Kibbutz Nir Oz with her family, was away that weekend.
The family was unable to locate any sign of Ravid right after the assault. Long days later, they found out that he was taken hostage into the Gaza strip. On November 28th the Katz family received the terrible news about the death of Ravid. His body is still held in Gaza.
