Roni Krivoi

Roni, the youngest of three siblings in a Russian-Israeli family from Carmiel, is the sole Sabra (native-born Israeli) in the family. He is described as restless and adventurous, the kind of kid who liked to keep busy. Lately, he got engaged in sound engineering and fell in love with it. He aspires to specialize in it and open his own sound engineering company.
Roni’s father has also described him as someone who has nine lives, having survived two car crashes, a fall into a manhole and other accidents. Roni’s brother said that Roni is very strong mentally and physically, the kind of person who can keep everyone’s spirits up, and spreads joy around. Roni was always traveling around the country for work, and on Friday 6/10 he had told his parents he was heading south for an event. Roni was working as a sound technician at the Nova music festival near Kibbutz Re’im when Hamas terrorists assaulted the gathering, murdering hundreds of people and abducting dozens.
Roni had reached the festival site on Friday afternoon, as part of the team that was setting up the all-night event. On Saturday October 7th, as the harrowing events unfolded, Roni succeeded in running away from the Hamas terrorists, and was hiding in a pit.
At 10 a.m He texted that he was alright, at 11 a.m. he sent his location and at 12 p.m Someone answered his phone in Arabic and cut off the conversation.
Roni was unexpectedly released from captivity on November 26, 2023. Upon his release he said that the building where he was initially held was bombed, and he managed to escape. For four days he was alone, trying to find his way back to Israel, but was finally caught by residents of Gaza and returned to captivity.
Days later, the Hamas organization announced his release as a tribute to President Putin. Welcome home dear Roni!
