Sapir Cohen

Beautiful, talented Sapir is the second of four children, from Kiryat Ata.
Sapir and her partner Alexander (Sasha) Trupanob started dating a year ago, and the two moved to Tel Aviv. Sasha’s family lives in Nir Oz.
Sapir and Sasha went to visit his family on the Kibbutz on the holiday eve. In the morning of October 7, as news of the murderous attack began to spread, Alexandra Friedman (24), a resident of the Krayot and the partner of Sapir Cohen's brother, began trying to locate the couple, but her calls were not answered. The phones of the two were no longer available. Later, geolocation showed the two were in Gaza.
Sasha’s mother, Yelena Trupanob, and grandmother, Irena Tati, were kidnapped along with the couple on that fateful Saturday. Tragically, Sasha’s father, Vitaly Trupanob, was murdered by the terrorists.
On November 29, Irena and Yelena were released from Hamas captivity as part of a temporary cease-fire deal. The next day, 55 days after she was kidnapped into Gaza, Sapir was released as well, under the same agreement. Sasha is still there, and he is being terribly missed back home.
