Shani was born in Moshav Aderet to an Israeli father; Nissim, and German mother; Ricarda (Riki). Shani has an older sister Adi (25) and two younger brothers; Amit (20) and Or (14).
Shani was a happy child and loved to help everybody. From a young age it was obvious that Shani is an artist. She indeed became a fantastic, talented freelance tattoo artist, and also an Instagram influencer.
Shani was a free and beautiful soul and a gorgeous young woman with an earring above her lip and golden streaks in her long, wild hair. Shani was a peace activist; she held pacifist views and refused to serve military service in Israel.
On Saturday October 7 Shani was dancing at the Nova music festival near Re’im, accompanied by her boyfriend, Oryon Hernández Radoux (30), who is a Mexican citizen. After the rocket warning alarm was sounded, and the attack began, Shani talked on the phone with her mother, saying that there were few places to hide and that she would try to find one. Right afterwards, Shani went missing.
Shani and Oryon were brutally kidnapped from the Nova music festival.
Hours later that day, Hamas posted a video showing Shani. She was seen having a significant head injury and blood-matted hair, wearing very little clothes. Shani was being paraded in the streets of Gaza City by Hamas terrorists in the back of a pickup truck; they were exclaiming "Allahu Akbar", and were joined in the cheers by the people in the crowd surrounding the vehicle. They spat on the body and beat it. The video went viral, becoming one of the iconic images of the massacre of 7 October.
On Monday 30 October the death of Shani was confirmed. Forensic examiners found the petrous part of the temporal bone from her skull on a road leading out of the festival grounds, with her DNA. Dislodgement of this bone is indicative of death, according to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute. According to this evidence, Shani was murdered by Hamas terrorists in Israel, before her body was taken to Gaza.
