Nik Beizer

19

Nik Beizer was a talented handyman who loved to cook. His parents, Ekaterina and Sergey, immigrated to Israel from Ukraine in 2000. They got married in Israel and had two children: Nik and his younger sibling, Nikol, who is 15 years old.
According to his mother, Nik is hardworking and has been involved in the family’s industrial renovation business since he was 14. He was motivated to earn money for his driver’s license, which he successfully obtained before turning 17. He even bought a car with his savings.
Ekaterina recalls, “He always helped the weaker kids who were being picked on at school. If he saw someone struggling, he would step in to assist.”
Nik was kidnapped into Gaza by Hamas terrorists on Saturday, October 7th, from The Coordination and Liaison Directorate, a base located on the northern border of Gaza. He was taken alongside 19-year-old Ron Scherman from Lehavim. Ron's last words to his mother were "Bye mom. I love you. That’s it. They’re here, it's over." Nik tried to reassure his mother that everything will be fine, before the call was cut off. Nik and Ron were recorded in a video posted by Hamas being forcibly taken from the shelter by armed terrorists who infiltrated the base.
On Friday December 15th, the IDF announced the recovery of the bodies of Nik Beizer and Ron Scherman, who were kept together. It is assumed that the two were murdered in captivity.
