Nimrod Cohen is known for his quiet, introverted nature. He always puts others first and often mediates disputes. Nimrod loves traveling both within Israel and internationally, embracing nature; he has been an active participant and leader in the Jewish National Fund (קק”ל) youth organization.
Nimrod enjoys playing computer games, spending time with friends, and always carries a Rubik's cube with him. He has an impressive collection of playing cards from various places around the world, waiting for him in his room. Nimrod listens to a wide range of music, from nostalgic Israeli tunes to heavy English rap. In high school, he studied software engineering, and dedicated significant time to training and fitness.
On October 7th, Nimrod was kidnapped alongside friends from the Nahal Oz area. After his family identified him in a Hamas video, they were informed by the IDF of his abduction to Gaza. Vicky, his mother, emphasizes Nimrod's sensitivity, kindness, and the widespread affection he enjoys.
The Cohens, particularly Nimrod's twin sister, Romi, are actively involved in the Rehovot branch of the Hostages and Missing Families Forum, advocating for Nimrod and others' release through rallies and gatherings. Vicky remains hopeful, strengthened by her belief in her son's survival: "I know he's alive," she declared, "That gives me strength."
