Sahar Kalderon, a dual Israeli- French citizen, is the third child of four siblings from Kibbutz Nir Oz. She is a sweet girl endowed with personal charm, kindness, and sensitivity. Sahar is very sociable and creative - she loves art, drawing, sculpting in clay, and enjoys music, fashion, and makeup. She likes Korean pop and is a fan of Billie Eilish, and also plays the bass guitar. Sahar loves people and animals and is very connected to everyone in her family. She helps her parents a lot in caring for her younger brother, Erez. She practices yoga and was very connected to her grandmother, Carmela Dan, who was tragically murdered on October 7th. They used to play chess, cards, and bake cookies together.
On Saturday October 7th, Sahar, along with her father Ofer and 12-year-old brother Erez, was kidnapped from their home on the kibbutz by Hamas terrorists during a surprise attack on Israel and taken into the Gaza Strip.
After enduring 52 days of captivity, Erez and Sahar were released as part of a temporary ceasefire agreement. However, their father, Ofer, aged 53, remains captive in Gaza. Their mother, Hadas, Ofer's ex-wife, is fiercely advocating for his release.
