Tal Chaimi

Tal Chaimi

41

Tal Chaimi lived in Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak with his wife Ella and their three young children. He was a reservist in the Gaza Division and deputy of the defense unit of the kibbutz. Tal was missing for two weeks after the Hamas attack on October 7 and was reported hostage only a couple of weeks later.
Tal was a third-generation member of Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak, a loving husband and father, deeply rooted within the community, where he stood as a pillar of its society.
In life and in death, Tal exemplified heroism and nobility, consistently being the first to extend a helping hand and provide a sense of calm and security to those in his midst.
Tal worked for years in the kibbutz and later as an engineer. Quiet and focused, he was an initiator, a problem-solver, and a creator.
Tal served as a volunteer at the security force of the kibbutz and was among the first on that tragic Saturday to fight for the place and people he loved. He informed his wife of the terrorists in the kibbutz and told her to lock the door. She locked it, barricaded the door with furniture, and armed herself with a knife. At ten o’clock in the morning, any contact with Tal was lost.
He was declared missing, then captured, but after 68 days of uncertainty, the family was informed that Tal Chaimi had been killed. Tal left behind his wife Ella, pregnant with their fourth child, nine-year-old twins, and a six-year-old son.
Honor the memory of Tal
Tal was kidnapped by Hamas, and later his family was informed that he was killed.
