Tamir Adar

38

Tamir, a resident of Kibbutz Nir Oz, served as a beloved social leader at the Ramon Foundation, focusing on youth personal development. Esteemed by his peers and viewed as an inspiration by the participating children, he encouraged them to pursue their aspirations. Fulfilling his dream, he became a farmer on the kibbutz.
On the harrowing Saturday of October 7th, as the attack on Israel unfolded, Tamir bravely set out to defend the kibbutz he cherished from the invading Hamas terrorists. Heading to support the emergency team, he never returned.
The terrorists attacked and completely destroyed his home, while his family hid in the shelter and miraculously survived.
Tamir was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists and was taken into Gaza. Tamir’s grandmother, Yafa Adar , aged 85, was also kidnapped. Yafa was released from Hamas captivity 49 days later, as part of a temporary cease-fire agreement.

In January 2024, Tamir's family received the heartbreaking news of his demise while held by Hamas. He leaves behind his wife, Hadas, and their two young children. Tamir's commitment to education and the profound impact he had on those around him will forever be remembered.
