Yair Yaakov

Yair 'Ya-Ya' Yaakov, the man with the green eyes and the shy smile that immediately warms the heart. He is the older brother who teaches his siblings to love the music he loves, and how to leave the floor sparkling. He is a loving father and partner.
On Saturday 7 October Yair was shot by Hamas terrorists and kidnapped, wounded, from his home along with his partner, Merav Tal (53). His children Yagil (13) and Or (16) were also kidnapped from their mother’s house on the kibbutz.
Yair’s children were freed on November 27th, after spending 52 days in Hamas captivity, following a temporary cease-fire agreement. Merav, his partner, was freed the day after.
On 15 February Kibbutz Nir Oz announced with a broken heart that Yair ‘Ya-Ya’ was murdered by Hamas terrorists and his body is still held captive in Gaza. Yair will be unimaginably missed.
