Yuli is a shy girl who had just begun to open up a bit in the weeks before her kidnapping. She is a loving child, born and raised in Kibbutz Nir-Oz.
Yuli was kidnapped from her home on the morning of Saturday 7 October, along with her twin sister, Emma, their parents and four other family members. She had spent the previous evening with her extended family who had come to the kibbutz to celebrate the holiday together.
Initially, Yuli was held captive with her family, but two days later, she was separated from them, with no sign of where she was or how she was doing. Ten days later, while the family moved from one hiding place to another, Yuli's mother, Sharon (34), suddenly heard the sound of a crying infant and immediately recognized that it was the cry of her own daughter - Yuli. Then she saw a Palestinian woman holding her. From that moment, they were reunited.
After 52 days in Hamas captivity, Yuli was released together with her twin sister, Emma, and their mother, Sharon, as part of a temporary ceasefire deal. Initially, she was hospitalized, and after ten days, she moved with them to her grandparents’ house.
Her father, David (33), her uncle Ariel (28), Ariel’s partner, Arbel (28), and her brother Dolev (35) are still in captivity in Gaza, and she hasn't seen them since
